| | It has been a challenging six previous weeks. During previous months I felt that it was necessary for me to fulfill my calling as a missionary. After much thought, consideration, and prayer (of course) I asked for transfer within the nursing home. I also asked if there was no position available I would put in my two-week notice. I would later receive a call from nursing home that there was no position available at that time. I was also told that the census of the nursing home was down and they accepted my termination immediately on the 16th of July. I felt that my hours would have changed if I decided to continue my employment. I worked at the nursing home for almost five years. I enjoyed interacting with the residents through many conversations. I was unable to interact as much because my position was changed to evening shifts during the month of May. I am thankful and blessed that God gave me the opportunity to work at the nursing home. I have filled out numerous applications for employment which I felt that I had the required qualifications. I will unable receive unemployment as I quit my employment. I am looking for employment where I can touch individual lives for Jesus. I have numerous traits which I feel could help within a team of people or as an assistant. These traits include flexibility, acceptance of culture, non-complaining voice, organization, willingness to lend a helping hand, and humbleness. I am willing to go wherever God leads me. I must fully trust that God will provide my need for employment. I am unaware what the future may hold but hold true to the words of the 29th chapter of Jeremiah that the Lord knows the plans He has in store for us. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all of your heart.” Jeremiah 29:11-13 (NIV) I have good news as I have become involved with a nearby congregation. During the previous three months I have attended First Christian Church in Washington, MO. I have attended this church on a regular basis and I am considering become a member in upcoming months. I ask that you continual keep me in prayer as God may provide in His time. I appreciate all of your prayers. -- Chris |
